Cesura has been invited to play at the University of Arizona School of Music's Chamber Music Showcase, and will be performing at 7:30 pm, Monday May 5th in Crowder Hall.

We will be performing the first two movements of Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8 in C minor, Op. 110. This work is a very dramatic piece written both in response to two major events in Shostakovich's life: his diagnosis with myelitis, and his joining of the Communist party, and also in preparation for his planned (but not fulfilled) suicide. For more information on this string quartet, visit the Wikipedia page.

Admission is free! For additional details, visit the College of Fine Arts event page or the UA News article.

Not able to go to the performance? This show will be televised on KUAT at a later date. Watch for future announcements with more info!
